Welcome to Colorado Smiles Orthodontics
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children visit the orthodontist around the age of seven. By treating children young, your orthodontist will be able to correct and guide your child’s jaw to create space for crowded teeth, possibly avoid extractions in the future and fix common problems such as thumb sucking and speech issues. As a parent you can watch for signs that it is time to make an appointment with an orthodontist such as crowding of the teeth, thumb sucking, breathing through the mouth, or jaws that pop. Your child’s dentist can also help you recognize when it is time to see an orthodontist.
